Daphni Steffin

Daphni Steffin joined the MIH Board in July of 2022. Her 16-year career in the intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) field started on Maryland’s Eastern Shore as a student director of Best Buddies at Salisbury University. Then, during her 10 years at The Arc Baltimore, Daphni initiated an Assistive Technology program and connected more than 500 people with different kinds of assistive technology to live, work and learn more independently. She went on to hold the position of Chief Product Officer at iCareManager (iCM), a software vendor for providers of long-term supports, where she led efforts to integrate with Maryland’s LTSS system and expand the company’s size and reach across the nation.

In 2023, she returned to her roots in the Maryland DDA provider world, joining the talented leadership team at Opportunities Inc. as Senior Director of Business Development. She remains committed to making a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and strengthening the incredible organizations that support them.

Daphni is certified in Assistive Technology through California State University, Northridge and provides consulting on this and other topics in addition to her full-time position. She has experience in developing programs, strategic planning and assessing technology needs at micro and macro levels. She brings her passion for helping people achieve their goals through the use of high- and low-tech technology to MIH. Daphni initiated and chairs the MIH Standing Committee. She has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and was awarded the Maryland Daily Record’s Leading Women Award.
