On Monday, Oct. 7 at 4 p.m., the Howard County Housing Commission (House Howard) will be hearing testimony from the public regarding the updating of its Administrative Plan.
Matthew Plantz, Board Chairman of People the Go Maryland, who will be providing testimony as a Howard County resident and self-advocate with lived experience.
Katie Collins-Ihrke, President of the Arc of Howard County, will also provide testimony.
MIH will advocate for the Commission to set aside vouchers for people with disabilities in Howard County or help them obtain vouchers through direct referral.
The plan provides the policies and procedures for operating the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP). At the same time, the Commission is also updating its Five-Year Plan, which provides the goals and objectives of the HCVP program, and its Annual Plan, which gives an update to the Five-Year Plan.
The hearing will be held at the Commission’s office at 9770 Patuxent Woods Drive, Columbia, MD 21046.
