Director of Housing

Maryland Inclusive Housing Corporation (MIH) is looking for a passionate and professional individual to join our team. The Director of Housing is a full-time position and reports to the Executive Director.  The Director of Housing will be the MIH leader in the programs and services part of its work.  

About Maryland Inclusive Housing Corporation (MIH):  
MIH was created to help people with IDD successfully access and maintain inclusive, affordable and accessible housing of their choice by creating opportunities, identifying resources, connecting people and providing services. Our innovative model involves creating housing committees across Maryland; providing case management for individuals receiving Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) services; and acting as an information clearinghouse for DDA, individuals with IDD and their families; and for coordinators of community support and service providers.   

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinating Regional Housing Teams 
  • Develop new and continue to support existing regional support housing teams across the state.   
  • Meet with housing teams to help develop leadership and provide resources.   
  • Connect existing and new housing teams so that they can learn from each other and support each other in their work.

2. Networking 

  • Create networking opportunities between housing teams and encourage networking of housing teams. 
  • Attend appropriate meetings of DDA, MACS, The Arc Maryland, Developmental Disabilities Council and People on the Go.  
  • Represent MIH on statewide committee.

3. Providing Strategic Leadership

  • Be the MIH lead in strategic planning around developing and identifying affordable and accessible housing and housing support resources for people with IDD and their families. Collaborate with the Executive Director and the Board on this work.   
  • Partner with the Executive Director in identifying and developing new services, resources, and funding to further the MIH mission.  
  • Be a leader within MIH including cross training with other positions and creating team building opportunities within the agency. 

Requirements: 

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree required, Masters of other advanced degrees or certificates desirable.  
  • Extensive experience in affordable housing development in the private or public sector. Knowledge and experience with affordable housing development in Maryland is desirable.  
  • Knowledge and experience with adult IDD services is desirable. 
  • MIH is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Baltimore metro area is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience and aptitude as a team player.  
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.  
  • Ability and willingness to work from home and to work a flexible schedule that includes regular weekday evening meetings and some weekend meetings.   
  • Access to a car or other vehicle to travel to meetings around the state, with re-imbursement for mileage.

Salary & Benefits: 

  • $100,000 annual salary. 
  • Health and dental insurance.  
  • 403(b) retirement with company matching.  
  • Three weeks PTO and holidays.
