MIH Kicks Off Its Fifth Anniversary Celebration!

MIH is now five years old!!!

A group of passionate stakeholders in collaboration with the Maryland Development Disabilities Administration (DDA) dreamed of a world where people with developmental disabilities took control of where they lived, who they lived with and how they received services. This dream resulted in the formation of Maryland Inclusive Housing in January of 2020.

Thanks to a committee established by then-DDA Director Bernie Simons, and co-chaired by DDA Regional Director Judy Pattik and Jubilee Executive Director Tim Wiens, MIH became Maryland’s leader in helping Marylanders with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities successfully access and maintain inclusive, affordable housing.

Wiens, who was appointed to the role of Executive Director, and an esteemed Board of Directors, began our nonprofit from Wiens’s home in Silver Spring.

Since then, he has increased the staff to nine members, including a Housing Support Services (HSS) team of four. That team has helped find affordable housing for nearly 50 Marylanders with IDD, who are living richer, fuller lives.

Throughout the remainder of 2025, we will celebrate our fifth anniversary with a series of feature stories showcasing our history, clients and successes. It will all be available on our website and social media channels – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X.

The celebration will be highlighted by an in-person celebration in the Fall. Details to come!

We’re excited to share our celebration with you. Please check back often as we will have new stories to share!
