On Sept. 3, MIH welcomed Tia Bryant as its first communications intern. In her role, Tia will assist Director of Communications Andy Krauss with many aspects of the MIH communications operation, with specific emphasis on digital media, social media and storytelling.
Tia is currently in her Junior year at Towson University, working on a degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations and Advertising. She spent her first two collegiate years at Prince George’s Community College, where she made an indelible impression on several of the college’s media outlets.
She served as Editor in Chief of The Owl, PGCC’s Student Newspaper, where she helped the publication win “Student Organization of the Year” and was named “Outstanding Executive Officer” for her efforts.
Tia also served as executive producer and host of “PGCC Perspective,” a student-run radio show and podcast. The show won “Best Podcast” in the college’s first-ever student media competition.
She also served as a media interviewer for “PassDaAux,” a company that focuses on providing exposure to up-and-coming artists in the Washington Metropolitan area.
“Tia comes to our team with a wealth of experience, and we know she can make an immediate impact at MIH,” said Krauss. “She will help us reach new audiences and bring innovative ideas to the table that weren’t there before. We excited to help Tia’s learning experience as she furthers her education as a communications professional.”
“MIH found me at a transitional period where I yearned to utilize my skills to make a meaningful social impact,” said Bryant. “I’m excited to connect with diverse individuals and create stories that have the power to change lives.”
