MIH’s Tim Wiens Receives CDN Legacy Award

Maryland Inclusive Housing Executive Director Tim Wiens received the Community Development Network of Maryland’s (CDN) Legacy Award on Oct. 26, recognizing his lifetime achievement in and commitment to community development.

The award was presented at CDN’s Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon at the Middle Branch Fitness & Wellness Center in Baltimore. The annual event celebrates the people and organizations strengthening communities across Maryland.

Wiens has served as MIH’s Executive Director since its founding as a nonprofit in 2020. Under his leadership, MIH has provided housing support services to more than 280 Marylanders with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization has helped more than 80 individuals successfully access and maintain inclusive, affordable, and accessible housing and trained 140 staff members from 43 DDA-licensed agencies to deliver housing support services.

Before joining MIH, Wiens served for 40 years as the Executive Director of the Jubilee Association of Maryland. During his tenure, he helped grow the organization from a single group home serving seven individuals with three employees into an agency supporting 140 individuals across more than 70 locations, with a staff of 260.

“I was honored to receive the CDN Legacy award for my role in helping to start and build MIH,” said Wiens. “It is a legacy that we can be proud of. CDN has been a terrific partner to MIH.”
