MIH is pleased to announce the promotion of Rosa Villalobos to Community Living Coordinator Intern, marking the next step in a journey with the organization that began earlier this year through Montgomery College.
Rosa joined MIH in May 2026 as an intern through Montgomery College’s Behavioral Health Associate Degree program. In that role, she primarily worked behind the scenes, providing administrative support through file reviews, appointment coordination and other responsibilities.
In her new role, Rosa will transition from administrative support to working directly with the individuals MIH serves, helping them access and maintain housing of their choice and achieve greater independence and housing stability.
The promotion also marks a first for MIH. Rosa will become the organization’s first intern to complete its Housing Support Services (HSS) Certification Training and transition into a paid direct-support role.
“We are especially excited that Rosa will be the first MIH intern to complete our HSS Certification Training and transition into a paid role supporting individuals in accessing and maintaining housing of their choice,” said MIH Director of Housing Support Services Lauren Silverstone. “We look forward to supporting Rosa as she continues to grow her skills, expand her experience, and contribute to MIH’s mission of helping individuals achieve greater independence and housing stability.”
A Washington, D.C., native, Rosa earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Montgomery College and recently earned an associate degree in Behavioral Health. She consistently earned Dean’s List recognition and will continue her education at the University of Maryland Global Campus, where she plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
Rosa said her experience at MIH has given her a deeper understanding of independence, inclusion and person-centered support — principles she will now have the opportunity to put into practice through her direct work with individuals.
“What I enjoy most about working with Maryland Inclusive Housing is the opportunity to learn from the people we support while helping them work toward greater independence and achieving their own goals,” Rosa said. “Every person has their own story, strengths, and dreams, and I am grateful to be part of an organization that recognizes and respects that.”
As she begins her new role, Rosa hopes to continue developing her skills and building a career focused on making a positive difference in the lives of others.
“I would love to remain a part of Maryland Inclusive Housing and continue learning and growing with the organization for many years to come,” she said.
