Andy Krauss became the Maryland Inclusive Housing’s Director of Communications of in May of 2022.
Andy comes to us from Sugar Free Kids Maryland, a statewide coalition working to make healthy eating and drinking options easier to choose for Maryland children so they can live long, healthy lives. He was responsible for the creation of all communications strategies for both Sugar Free Kids Maryland and developed external relationships to enhance Sugar Free Kids’ visibility on the local and national levels.
He orchestrated social, earned and paid medias efforts that was integral in helping seven different jurisdictions in Maryland pass healthy vending laws, the City of Baltimore pass a Healthy Kids’ Meal Bill in 2018 and a Healthy Kids’ Meal Bill in Prince George’s County in 2020. Andy facilitated a communications advocacy team of partner groups that deliver key messages and garner support through their specific audiences to advocate the passing these policies. Andy was concurrently involved with the communications team of the Horizon Foundation of Howard County from 2014-18. He coordinated more than 800 media hits in that time for Sugar Free Kids, the Horizon Foundation and LOCAL Maryland – a coalition that works to improve the health and quality of life for all people by ensuring that local governments can pass laws that support healthy families, a clean environment and good jobs.
A graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, with a B.A. in Journalism, Andy has more than 25 years of experience in communications and public relations. He has spent the last 17 years working in the non-profit sector with stops at the National Education Association and Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA. He began his public relations career, working in the world of collegiate athletics, at Washington and Lee University, Virginia Military Institute and the University of Florida. Andy served as a media relations contact at all three schools and was responsible for countless publications.
He keeps his feet wet in sports as the internal public address voice of the FedExField press box during Washington Commanders gamedays. Andy resides in Bethesda.

Tim Wiens
Executive Director
Tim Wiens was hired by the Board of Directors in January of 2020 as the half time Executive Director of the Maryland Inclusive Housing Corporation.
In 2016 Deputy Secretary Bernie Simons appointed Tim Wiens to serve on the State-wide Tiered Standards Committee to comply with the new federal CMS Settings rules. As part of Tim’s work on this Committee he was asked to chair the Residential Sub-Committee to set residential goals for DDA’s transformation. As a result of the work and recommendations of this Committee, in January of 2018, Mr. Simons appointed Tim Wiens to Chair the DDA Supported Living Advisory Committee, which led to the recommendations to establish both a DDA Rental Assistance Program and the Maryland Inclusive Housing Corporation.

Lauren Silverstone brings more than 10 years of social services experience to MIH. A native Marylander, she has a B.A. in Psychology from UMBC and a M.A. in Human Sciences from Hood College. Terri Bradford is a native Maryland resident, growing up in New Carrollton and currently living in Columbia. Sarah Hochbaum became the Community Living Coordinator at Maryland Inclusive Housing in May of 2022. Hochbaum grew up in Columbia, Md. And has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. Her passion for housing began when she started working at Green Door in Washington D.C., which supported the homeless population living with mental health and substance abuse disorders. Tierra Medley, a lifetime Prince George’s County resident, became MIH’s newest community living coordinator in February of 2023.
