John Woods, Jr.

John Woods, Jr. serves as a Communications Intern with Maryland Inclusive Housing (MIH), where he supports the organization’s communications efforts with an emphasis on digital storytelling, multimedia production, and social media.

John is a senior Mass Communication student at Towson University pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Electronic Media and Film. An Honors College student and member of the Alpha Epsilon Rho Media Honor Society, he has experience in journalism, broadcasting, video production, graphic design, and social media.

At Towson, John serves as News Director for the Towson University Newscast, where he oversees news operations, trains student journalists, produces multimedia content, and helps create newscasts and news packages. He also serves as Vice President of the Towson Broadcast Education Association and is a contributing writer for The Towerlight, Towson University’s student newspaper.

John has hands-on experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, WordPress, and other communications and production tools. In 2026, his leadership and involvement at Towson were recognized with the university’s SGA Student Organization Leader of the Year Award.

As a person with an intellectual and developmental disability (autism), John brings a personal connection to MIH’s mission and a strong interest in using communications to elevate the stories of people with disabilities. Through his work with MIH, he hopes to increase awareness of the organization’s mission, programs, and successes while helping MIH reach new audiences across Maryland.
